We left this morning and went through Venice beach (if you are in the area, you HAVE to go there to people watch..LOL) and through Santa Monica and wandered north.
We are not in a hurry and just wanted to relax and enjoy the scenery. The coast is such a beautiful area and there is so much to see.
There are places along the Hwy where campers and motorhomes line up for miles just to stay on the beach. It appears that some have been there for a long time... Must be a cheap way to live.
We wandered through Ventura and a lot of other famous places and stopped at Santa Barbara on the pier for lunch. We have been there before, so we know the Fish and Chips on the pier are great. As a bonus, the motorcycle parking on the pier is free and separate so you don't have to fight for a spot.
From there we went up and around Vandenburg A.F. base and then inland for a bit. A LOT of farmers fields and it seems the population around the fields is 99% hispanic.
We finally got to Morro Bay for the evening and got our room and relaxed for a bit before walking down to a local Italian Restaurant that has extremely good food for a very reasonable price.

I took a few pictures of the sun setting and now we are back in the room for the night. Interesting room, by the way. It is a mix of everything from the 60's and up. The bathroom is yellow tile and the shower is the old style with a very small door into a decent sized shower with a threshold that is a foot off the floor. It also comes equipped with something right out of a national lampoon movie LOL (see pictures)
We are try for the Santa Cruz area tomorrow. We should not have a problem with that. Now the room situation might be different... LOL Lori does not want to book a room ahead because she thinks we can find a better deal by looking around when we get there. It might be interesting.
Monday we are going into San Fransisco and staying for a couple of days to relax. It is one of my favorite city's and we are going to have dinner on the wharf.
Here are some more pictures of our day. I hope you all enjoy them.
