2 days of exploring

Not going to do any pictures this time, sorry, the internet connection is too slow to do that.

We left Fort Bragg and drove up the coast. The first section where Hwy 1 goes and meets Hwy101 is a great road. It is a motorcyclist's dream ride. All the corners and hills and very little traffic. I had a blast and Lori only got nervous once. I can tell because she shifts on the back seat in the corner. If I am leaned way over and the bike shifts, it is time to back off a little.

We topped off the gas and went down the "Avenue of the giant's" It is one of those MUST SEE roads in the area. It is about 40 miles long and wanders through the old growth Redwood forest. It really humbles you to nature going through there. Most of the tree's not right along side the road are wider than most cars.

Lori and I stopped at our favorite little diner in the middle and I had my double patty melt that I always get when we are there. The lady that cooks there knows how to cook the onions just right and to season the beef just right. I don't even really know what else is on the menu. I always get the patty melt.

We finished with the road and the tree's and headed north to our stop for the night at Crescent City. Lori had to go out again as soon as she found out there was a casino in the area, so we went up to the Lucky 7 casino where I made my usual donation to the cause and Lori held her own and even made a little to help offset my losses.

It was not all bad though, in the restaurant I found my new all time favorite comfort food. They had chicken fried prime rib that was OH SO DELICIOUS! With the Mashed taters and the country gravy, it was so much better that regular chicken fried steak, there is no camparison.

After a good nights sleep we headed up the coast. The sights are getting to be not as interesting as we have been seeing the same thing for a few days now, but it is still beautiful. We stopped off  at the Sea Lion caves and looked around. It has been over 20 years since we last stopped there. The cave is now certified as the biggest sea cave in the world.

A short jaunt up the coast to Lincoln City and we are stopped and resting for the night.

We will probably try and Make mark and Lori's house tomorrow so we can relax on Sunday at our own house..

Thanks for following along and I will try and get some pictures up as I can.
